President's Day bargains

I promised I would not be buying patterns until I was done cutting the ones I already have on my collection. Well, I was tempted. How could I resist getting these three vintage patterns from an Etsy shop? I spent only ten dollars including the shipping cost.

I went to Joann yesterday to get some notions and Simplicity patterns were 5 for $5. So, I would like to make all these clothes for the summer. Now all I need is a bunch of fabrics.

I stopped at Michael's and got these flowers for 99 cents. I will use them to make baby headbands.

Now all I need is time. Wish I could find it on sale too!

You got some really good deals. I love JoAnn's because (to me), they have the best sales! Everytime I say I'm not going to buy something sewing-related, I do. :-) Who can pass up a president's day sale? :-).

Hello~~
I am trying to make the same bloomers that you made. I can't figure out how to do the leg casings to work with elastics. Can you tell me how?

Thank you so much!!

To F. and J.,
It was hard to me too to put the elastic so I figure that I should try something else. I bought an elastic that looks like a cord. It is thin like a cord and it fits into a big plastic needle. So, I put the elastic thread into the needle and introduced it into the casing.

Hello Lizz
you method sounds a bit abstract to me! haha...I am the visual kind of learner. Any chance I can see a picture of your method? I am taking a sewing lesson today and I will see if I can find out how to do it the "pattern" way!!

Thank you!!

I don't have time to blog anymore the way I used to or to take pictures of past projects. I did four of these dresses and did it the pattern way and "my abstract way". I tried to help you but if you feel you can learn better at a sewing class go for it. I have two babies and seriously don't have time to be posting or answering beginners questions everytime someone request. I do my best to help.

Dear Lizz
Thank you for your reply. Sorry that my reply seems to get you the wrong way. :( sorry. Please don't get me wrong, I TOTALLY appreciate your reply! I am totally a beginner, that's why I was asking weird beginner questions. I just want to Thank You for answering the questions! Thank you so very much!
Hope to see more pictures in the future if you have time!

Hi F and J,
I am sorry for what I wrote. I have been moody lately because I don't get enough done with my sewing, I don't have time to blog, etc. You know that the house and babies come first. But really I don't take pictures of my projects when I am sewing because I don't do tutorials. My intention is to post some of my work and review patterns so other people can find information about it too. Happy sewing!
